How to link multiple Groovetube fixtures to one remote

This guide explains how to configure multiple Groovetube fixtures so they can all be controlled by a single remote. In this setup, one Groovetube acts as the Master, and all other fixtures are set as Slaves.

The Slave units automatically mirror the Master’s settings, except for Step 3 and Step 5, which are configured differently for each type.

  • For the Master: Follow all steps exactly as written for the Master unit.
  • For the Slaves: Set Master/Slave to Slave and IR to OFF.

When configured correctly, each Slave fixture will display a blinking green LED, confirming synchronization with the Master.

Master unit setup (Master only)

  1. Power on the Master Groovetube.
  2. Press the Menu button until Address appears.
  3. Use the Up and Down buttons to select Address 001, then press Enter.
  4. Press the Menu button until Channel appears.
  5. Use the Up and Down buttons to select 160CH, then press Enter.

  11. Press the Menu button until IR appears.
  12. Use the Up and Down buttons to select On, then press Enter.
  13. Continue pressing the Menu button until Address 001 is displayed and the tube light turns off.

Slave unit setup (Slave units only)

  1. Power on the Slave Groovetube.

  7. Use the Up and Down buttons to select Slave, then press Enter.

  10. Press the Menu button until IR appears.
  11. Use the Up and Down buttons to select Off, then press Enter.
  12. Continue pressing the Menu button until Address 001 is displayed and the tube light turns off.

Final synchronization and confirmation

Aim the IR remote at the Master unit and select a static color. All synced Groovetubes should illuminate identically.

  • Master: Displays a solid red LED next to the screen.
  • Slaves: Display a blinking green LED indicating successful synchronization.

You may now use the remote to control all synchronized Groovetube fixtures simultaneously.

Need help?

If a fixture does not respond, confirm the following:

  • All units use the same Address, Channel, and Wireless DMX ID.
